Osteopathy

Osteopathy aims to treat not just the pain but the patient as a whole by improving the function of the body, influencing the structural components - bones, muscles, joints and ligaments, and by encouraging the flow of blood and lymphatics, facilitating the body to heal iteslf using its own built in mechanisms. It can be helpful for people of all ages and all physiques.

Workstation Assessments

Good posture and an environment that allows for correct use of your workstation will prevent spinal and mechanical overstrain injuries from occurring and aid the healing of pre-existing problems.

John Miller will personally come into your office environment, assess your workstation set up and make the necessary changes and making recommendations where necessary to optimise your posture and prevent over use injuries.

Rehabilitative Exercise

In addition to manual therapies, the best way for patients to prevent or minimize the severity of injury recurrence is to rehabilitate the body through appropriate exercise, strengthening and balancing muscles groups using a combination of pilates and weight lifting exercises.

Taping and Strapping

Strapping with kinesiology tape helps to speed up injured tissue by supporting muscles, improving circulation, increasing muscle and joint proprioception, and reducing the range of motion.

What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a manual therapy which aims to view the body as a whole by looking at the causes of musculo-skeletal pain, and then treat using soft tissue manipulation (massage & stretching), joint articulation and mobilisation.

Osteopathy may be able to help with:
Neck, back and spinal pain, trapped nerves, sciatica, slipped discs, muscular limb pain, joint pain such as ankle, knee, hip, wrist, elbow and shoulder, arthritis, sports injuries, tendon & Ligament injuries, bursitis, tennis & golfers elbow, frozen shoulder, rotator cuff/impingement sydrome, foot pain, plantar fasciitis, headaches & migraines, postural problems, muscular imbalances, & pregnancy pain.

Rehabilitative exercise at our in house gym, (based on pilates and classical bodybuilding principles) when used in conjunction with osteopathy and/or sports massage can help to deal with muscular imbalances and postural problems by building up strength, improving flexibility and coordination in weak areas can prevent the reoccurance of injury.
